Description
Rippling River Cowl by Helen Bingham *Skacel Pattern*
The design for this cowl came out of a “Call for Designs” competition that skacel held in 2010. Helen Bingham won that competition with this simple, yet elegant cowl pattern. Unlike most cables, hers are worked against a Stockinette Stitch background, giving the cables the look of rippling currents in a deep river.
Though the original cowl was created for and worked in a much larger yarn, its design is proving to be excellent for lighter weight yarns as well. In the new gauge, the stitch definition is lovely, and the smaller sized cowl snuggles up to the neck, showing to full advantage, the lusciously soft llama and super baby alpaca found in these two respective yarns.
