Like a bright summer morning the Girder Shawl is crisp and fresh in a linen and rayon blend yarn. Equal parts romantic and modern this shawl evokes the structures of architecture while being feminine and organic. Perfect for early mornings in an old Victorian Beach house with a fragrant cup of tea.
PATTERN NOTES
The shawl is worked in the round from the center out, beginning with a provisional cast-on worked onto 2 circular needles. The first stitch on each needle is marked with a removable marker. Use the free end of one circular needle to work across the stitches on that needle. When you have enough stitches, you may work all of the stitches onto one needle. Once all of the stitches are combined onto one needle, you may continue to use the removable markers to separate the two lace patterns, or you may remove the markers and place a ring marker before each of the marked sts.
To modify the size of this shawl; repeat the lace pattern until shawl is your desired measurements, then work the edging. To increase the width of the provisional cast-on, cast on additional stitches to each needle in multiples of 16, casting on the same number of stitches to each needle, and work the 16-stitch pattern repeat until the end of the needle. Remember that any change in the measurements may necessitate a change in the yarn requirements.
Pattern has both charts and written pattern for all lace stitches.
