Friendship Beads

After serving as president for my quilt guild, I received 32 friendship star blocks. I added corner triangles and side pieces to each block. Then I set them with alternating spool blocks. They make me think of long strings of beads hanging in a doorway, hence the name “Friendship Beads”.

Signed friendship stars are encased in circular shapes to make this colorful bed-sized quilt. Tan and cream background fabrics and various batik scraps are easily pieced together to remind you daily of your friends.
