This Dog quilt pattern is a simple stripped and pieced image style quilt. He is the featured complete demo on YouTube. Originally designed for a baby boy we gave him a blue ball, but as the dog is a neutral theme change it to pink or purple for a more feminine look.
The pattern comes in 3 sizes: the main instruction is for the crib size 36×42, with additional pages for a smaller 24×28, and larger 48×56. The smaller is a fun wall hanging, especially with some personalization added to the ball. It can also be part of a larger quilt. The larger 48×56 size is great for Toddler beds, or as a lap / throw quilt. And if you border the largest size you can easily turn it into a twin.
Beginner Pattern. All straight cutting, and straight seams!
First the pattern will give you yardage and strip cutting instructions. Then you will use charts to cut those strips into varying length pieces labeled alphabetically. Shaping is done with quick corner half square triangles. Once the square are marked, you will follow a full page color image of the Dog also labeled alphabetically. Then sew assembly the quilt top row by row.
