Description
Challenge Star Quilt Pattern
This quilt is a reminder of the importance of reaching for the stars to accomplish your dreams, and is a tribute to a special moment in my space career — the NASA Astronomical Quilt Challenge of 2013.
Pattern includes options for: Baby (36″x45″), Throw (54″x63″), Square (63″x63″), Twin (72″x90″), Queen (90″x99″), King (108″x108″). Pattern is fat quarter friendly. Skill Level: Beginner.
The Challenge Star quilt design is a modern take on the 9″ star-themed quilt block that I made in 2013 while living and working on the International Space Station. NASA and I invited crafters from around the world to create star-themed quilt blocks to be stitched together to create a global community quilt.
NASA received over 2400 star-themed blocks from around the world. I hope that you enjoy quilting this updated version of my made-in-space Challenge Star block!
