Description
Borrowed Roses
Borrowed Roses is an adaptation of the New Rose Tree quilt made in 1928 by the grande dame of Kansas quilters, Rose Frances Good Kretsinger. The beauty of this quilt is found in its striking simplicity. Because the blocks are large (22 inches) and the fabrics are limited to five prints and a background fabric, this quilt is an easy to gather the fabric for and to make. Sue Garman assures us that the feathered swag border is one of the easier applique borders she has ever made. The detail photo shows the beautiful quilting that makes this quilt a stand-out in a crowd. Rose Kretsinger designed all the quilting patterns in her quilts – and Sue replilcated that design in her own quilt. The finished quilt measures 86 by 86 inches.
